Observing the World Breastfeeding Week

BreastFeedingWeek-. As the weeklong World Breastfeeding Week is being observed worldwide, the Faculty of Nursing and Public Health and the JICA volunteers in Thimphu highlighted the importance of exclusively breastfeeding babies for their initial six months.

BreastFeedingWeek.Exclusive breastfeeding child for the first six months is the single most effective intervention for preventing child deaths.

This message was conveyed to the mothers and the expectant mothers who had come to do their maternity checkups at the hospital this morning.

Breast milk is considered to the foremost nutritious food for babies.

The World Breastfeeding Week is observed every first week of August annually.
