Bhutan to have Energy Efficiency Policies and Guidelines

Energy Efficiency Policies and Guidelines- As energy efficiency plays a critical role in addressing energy security, economic and environmental objectives, Bhutan is gearing towards having an Energy Efficiency Policies and Guidelines in future.

To begin with, stakeholders from various agencies including international consultants were here in the capital for the preparation of Energy Efficiency Policies and Guidelines for Bhutan and Nepal.


During the one day workshop today, stakeholders from both public and private agencies submitted their final inputs and recommendations.

The Energy Efficiency Policies will be completed by 2015 and the Guidelines by August this year.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs initiated the project with financial support from the Asian Development Bank.
