Thimphu United Football Club has won this year’s Thimphu “B” Division Championship. The final was played today at the Changlimithang between Thimphu United Football Club and Rigsum Football Club.
The match ended in a draw with both the teams scoring four goals each. But the Thimphu United Football Club defeated Rigsum Football Club In the penalty shootout with five goals to four.
The winner received a cash prize of Nu. 30,000 and the runner up Nu. 20,000.
The teams will now play play-off match against the two bottom teams of the Thimphu “A” Division, the Under-18 team and the Yeedzin Football Club. The play-off match begins tomorrow.
A total of 11 teams played in the Thimphu “B” Division Championship, which was organized by the Bhutan Football Federation.
