400kV Indoor GIS in Jigmeling inaugurated

Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay today inaugurated the 400kV Indoor Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) at Jigmeling in Gelegphu, Sarpang.

The substation was built at the cost of Nu 2.5bn. The project was funded by the government of India.

At the inauguration, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of the substation for the local industries.

Lyonchhen also acknowledged the consultancy development partners, contractors and the Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC) for their efforts and contributions and awarded recognition certificates to them.
