Four houses were gutted down by fire in Monggar yesterday. Three houses belonged to the temporary supporting staff of the Monggar Regional Referral Hospital. The cause of the fire was electric short circuit.
The other house was a three-storied traditional house in Sengor, which belonged to a local businessman. According to the house owner, the fire could have been caused by cigarette butt thrown away by a passerby.
The fire started at around 12:30 pm.
All the belongings were destroyed by the fire. However, the house at Sengor had been insured for Nu. 1.5 million. The fire could be contained by only by 8 pm.
In the meantime, the affected families are living with their friends and relatives.
