The 3rd Bhutan Cricket Council Board (BCCB) Women’s T20 club championship cricket tournament began in Thimphu today. 10 teams from Thimphu, Punakha, Paro and Sarpang are taking part in the tournament.
A total of 140 players including seven players hired from India are playing in the tournament.
The matches are played in two venues in Pelkhil school ground and Jimithang cricket ground in Dechencholing.
The finals will be played on 23rd of this month. The winning team will take away a cash prize of Nu 100,000 along with the rolling trophy. The runners-up will be awarded Nu 50,000.
BCCB is organising the tournament. It is an annual event organised to promote cricket among the young girls in the country.
