Metsina-Vegetable-Shed-underutilisedThe newly constructed vegetable shed at Barp Gewog in Punakha has failed to serve its purpose. The farmers continue to sell their produce along the Missina Highway, citing bad business.

They say the sale is far lesser at the vegetable shed.

The Barp Gup, Wangchuk, said people prefer to sell their produce along the highway despite the risk and more work involved. “We have tried to convince them of dangers involved but they keep running after vehicles.”

More than Nu.1,00,000 was spent to construct the vegetable shed. The construction was funded through Constituency Development Grant.
