fairIncreasing number of Bhutanese students wishing to pursue higher studies in India has attracted many Indian unversities in education fair organised in Bhutan. As the two-day 8th education fair was inuagurated today, the number of universities has doubled.

With limited colleges in Bhutan, students who wish to pursue higher studies have no other option but to resort to colleges and unversities outside Bhutan.

Eight years ago, when the education fair initally started there were only about 30 universities from India. Today,  there are total of 60 unversities offering wide range of courses from under-graduate to  post-graduate degrees.

The fair is to create an ideal platform to provide timely and valuable information on educational programmes. It also helps parents and students to meet and interact with universities, colleges and institutions.

Meanwhile, universities taking part in the fair are also offering partial and full scholarships to the students.

So far, a total of about 200 scholarships have been comiitted by the various unversities in India.

The two-day education fair was inaugurated by the Indian Ambassador to Bhutan, V.P Haran.
