FireContained-ThimphuThe forest fire in Thimphu, which started on Sunday, has finally been contained. Over 300 acres of forests was destroyed by the fire, according to the District Forest Officer.

A team of fire fighters, comprising forestry officials, armed forces, Dessups, volunteers, RSPN and WWF officials and the public, helped battle the fire.

The fire broke out from Lanjopakha on Sunday around 3 pm. Two huts were also razed to the ground.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
