The Poverty and Social Impact Analysis report for the Draft Heritage Sites Bill was launched in Thimphu. The study was carried out in the last two years by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the World Bank. It was undertaken to gain insight into the implications of the Draft Heritage Sites Bill, drafting of which began in 2010. The findings include potential impacts of the Heritage Sites Bill, challenges to the implementation of the bill and policy recommendations. The study also investigated the institutional needs to ensure effective implementation of the bill.
