The Wildlife Conservation Division of Department of Forests and Park Services is coordinating a nationwide tiger re-validation survey. The nationwide survey, first of its kind, is fully operated by a team of Bhutanese professionals demonstrating national capacity to undertake such scientific exploration.
The survey was launched by Samdrup Jongkhar Drangpon for Eastern Region. The project was also launched in Phuentshogling and Gelegphu.
The survey is to understand the population size, density of tigers, distribution and habitat status in the country. The survey will be done by setting up cameras in different places.
It is funded by Bhutan Trust Fund for Environmental Conservation, Regional Wildlife Project and WWF Bhutan programme.
