The 35th session of the SAARC Council of Ministers meeting is being held in Male, the capital of the Maldives. The four-day meeting began today.
The Foreign Minister, Rinzin Dorje, is leading the Bhutanese delegation comprising senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lyonpo Rinzin Dorje will discuss issues related to trade and finance, poverty alleviation and rationalisation of SAARC.
The conclave will talk about the 18th SAARC summit to be held in Kathmandu, sometime in 2014. The meeting will also endorse the appointment of the next SAARC Secretary General, Arun Bahadur Thapa from Nepal.
