HM-Yangtse.His Majesty the King granted over 154 acres of land as Kidu to 233 thram holders in Trashi Yangtse yesterday. Following the second Cadastral resurvey last year, all those people who continued to have land issues after the first round were resolved.

Granting an audience to the beneficiaries, His Majesty spoke to the people about importance of land and the 600 mega-watts Kholongchu Hydropower Project in Trashi Yangtse.

His Majesty the King also said that it is important for the people to protect their land, which is a precious resource. His Majesty the King who is also visiting Trashi Yangtse for the first time after the royal wedding, thanked for the people for their good wishes and prayers.

Meanwhile, His Majesty also granted kidu to 36 people identified by the Office of Gyalpoi Zimpon as Gyalpoi Tozey.

The nationwide Cadastral Resurvey was carried out from 2008 upon the command of His Majesty the King. When His Majesty came to the throne in 2006, resolving these problems at the earliest was one of His Majesty’s priorities.

His Majesty also granted a tokha to the people of the dzongkhag. His Majesty and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen spent time interacting with the people.

Later in the evening, Their Majesties visited Chorten Kora, the historic landmark in Trashi Yangtse, to offer prayers and also visited Trashi Yangtse town.
