Given the increasing traffic congestion in Trongsa, the Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project Authority (MHPA) along with Traffic Division has introduced speed gun and breathalyzer. Along with the stringent checking, these equipment will be placed at strategic locations to make the project area safe.
The Superintendent of Traffic Division Lieutenant Colonel, Passing Dorji, while speaking to the drivers of the area, said the rampant violation of traffic rules in the area would be restrained. He said the move was felt necessary to make the area safer for the dwellers, pedestrians and rivers alike.
The equipment worth over Nu.9,00,000 was purchased by MHPA.
