Forest fire continues to rage for third day

fire-WangdueThe forest fire in Wangdue Phodrang continues to rage for the third day today. Until yesterday, about 7,000 acres of the forest cover had been damaged by the fire. It is said to have been started near Chuzomsa check post on Monday.

The Phangyul Gup said they hope to contain the fire by tonight. The locals from Phangyul and forestry personnel continue to battle the fire.
