His Majesty awards medals to 2 individuals

HM awarded the National Order of Merit (Gold) to Lhap Dorji and Yuichi Tomiyasu.His Majesty the King awarded the National Order of Merit (Gold) to Lhap Dorji and Yuichi Tomiyasu today.

Lhap Dorji is the Project Manager at Renewable Natural Resource Research and Development Centre (RNR RDC), Wengkhar, Monggar.

He joined the civil service in 1999, and has served as Agricultural Officer and Project Coordinator in Monggar and Pema Gatshel. He was awarded the medal for his outstanding

contributions in improving the lives of farmers in Eastern Bhutan.

Yuichi Tomiyasu is a JICA expert and team leader for the implementation of the Horticulture Research and Development Project for the six Eastern dzongkhags, working with the RNR RDC in Wengkhar, Monggar.

He has been working in Bhutan since 2000, and was awarded the medal for his outstanding contributions in improving the lives of farmers in Eastern Bhutan.
