EducationMinster-MingboDukpa-SchoolAutonomyThe Ministry of Education’s new policy initiative to grant autonomy to the schools was in the limelight at National Assembly session today. Much of today’s question and answer session revolved around it.

The discussions sparked off after the Panbang MP, Dorji Wangdi, questioned the Education Minister on why was it not made mandatory for the schools to go autonomous instead of leaving it optional.

The Education Minister, Mingbo Dukpa, said the ministry’s main objective is to improve the quality of education through the guidelines. Once these areas are taken care of the quality of education would improve, said the education minister.
