SAARC Secretary General bids farewell

PM+Ahmed Saleem. The Secretary General of SAARC, Ahmed Saleem, paid a farewell call on to the Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.

Lyonchhen expressed his appreciation to the Secretary General for serving his term successfully and commended on his contribution and hard work during his tenure.

The Secretary General congratulated Lyonchhen on the success of 2013 elections and praised Bhutan’s active participation in SAARC.

Lyonchhen and the Secretary General also highlighted on the importance of trade among all the SAARC nations and strengthening economic cooperation among the members.

“SAARC has managed to grow over time and as we strengthen our economic cooperation, the imprint of SAARC will become more visible,” said Lyonchhen.
