Mega Private Limited’s partner appeals to the Supreme CourtOne of the four partners of Mega Private Limited, Kuenley Wangdi is looking to appeal to the Supreme Court on grounds that he did not receive his 25 percent share that he was entitled to.

His legal counsel said the other grounds for appeal were the government being deprived of tax contribution, which according to him, would amount to more than Nu. 90 M.

However, the defendant’s legal counsel still claimed that the company had not evaded any taxes since it was under tax holiday.

Appellant Kuenley Wangdi also expressed dissatisfaction over the high court’s ruling which did not recognise national income of software export businesses.

Thimphu District Court on November 2013 ruled that Kuenley Wangdi, as the partner of the company, was eligible for the profit amount of more than Nu.182 M with interest applied over the years.

The High Court had however overturned the judgment.
