Trongsa Tshechu begins

The annual Trongsa Tshechu began today. The monks performed mask dances on the first day of the five-day Tshechu. The laymen performed Shachham, Dramitsengachham, Rakshamangchham, and paw. Hundreds of devotees from Trongsa and neighbouring dzonkhags, Zhemgang and Bumthang, came to witness the Tshechu. Hundred stalls, selling different food items, goods, and cloths have also been set-up outside the dzong. The Tshechu will end on January 2 next year, with the unfurling of Guru Tshengye Throngdel.
