35-year-old man killed in a landslide

A 35-year-old man died when a massive landslide triggered by heavy rainfall since morning buried him and his 43-year-old brother, this afternoon at Midzomsa (Somlachen) in Dophuchen Gewog, Samtse.

The older brother was rescued by the Dorokha Dungkhag search and rescue team and was immediately referred to Phuentshogling Hospital with severe injuries.

The brothers were reaching their cattle into the forest for grazing when the incident happened. The deceased has two children studying in a primary school.
