Abuse of function, the biggest form of corruption- Dasho Neten ZangmoAbuse of function is the biggest form of corruption in the country. The Anti-Corruption Commission’s Chairperson, Dasho Neten Zangmo, said generally people at mid and low level think that they don’t have power to do corruption. “But each of us enjoys certain limit of power.”

She gave an example of an accountant’s power of releasing money. “There is certain limit of power in all of us, only thing is that degree of damage each one of us can do, holding higher post will do more damage compare to lower post.”

The Chairperson was speaking to the civil servants of the Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag today, coinciding with the International Anti-Corruption Day.

Meanwhile, to mark the international Anti-Corruption week, an inter school debate on, “the present generation upholds better values than the earlier generation”, was held in the capital, today.

The Chairperson of the National Council, Dasho Dr. Sonam Kinga, joined the schools to mark the week.

A report on integrity and value education in schools was also launched marking the event.

The debate was organized by Changangkha Middle Secondary School in collaboration with the Anti-Corruption Commission.
