A 15-member delegation from Thailand, led by the Vice-Minister and Representative of the King participated in the Second Royal Kathina Ceremony, this morning. The ceremony was held at Simtokha Dzong.
The Kathina ceremony is an age-old Thai tradition, observed in temples to provide people the opportunity to gain merit by offering robes and other essential items to monks who have completed the three-month rain retreat.
The first Royal Kathina Ceremony was observed in November 2011 at the Dechenphodrang Monastery.
