The Speaker Sri Lanka’s Parliament, Chamal Jayantha Rajapaksa, along with eight-member delegation called on the Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang yesterday.
The Speaker congratulated Lyonchhen on successfully assuming his post. The Prime Minister and the delegation discussed the bilateral relationship of the two nations.
“I hope that our relationship will be grow from strength to strength in years to come. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Bhutan for providing us support and aid during the 2004 Tsunami,” said the Speaker.
Lyonchhen and the delegation also highlighted the mutual areas of interest like trade and economic cooperation. He thanked the delegation for visiting Bhutan and assured them that he would do his best to further strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation in the coming years.
