Illegal timber intercepted

Illegal-blue-pine-woodThe Divisional Forest Office in Paro intercepted two cases of illegal timber transactions on Sunday. The officials seized a truckload of illegal blue pine wood at around 2.20 pm yesterday. The truck was intercepted at Tsento while on its way to Lugni Gewog. The offender has been fined Nu. 3,000.

The Forest officials also seized a tractor load of illegally harvested blue pine in Tsento Gewog at around 3 PM. Officials said several logs were also found at the offender’s home and the place where the trees had been cut. illegally-harvested-blue-pine-Tsento

The offender will be fined Nu. 291.04 per CFT of the total which officials said were around 600 CFT.
