Bhutan network for empowering women (BINEW) hopes to bring out more women participation in the 2016 local government elections. There are 99 women in the local government currently.
In their endeavor to bring out at least 15% to 20% women in local government by 2016, BINEW organized a three-day workshop on gender and leadership for women in local government.
Fifty-eight local leaders and aspiring local leaders from the central region attended the workshop.
