4 killed in two separate accidents

Accident-Kills-2A man and a woman, died on the spot when the vehicle they were travelling in went off the road at Chuzhi Zampa under Nyishog Gewog, Wangdue Phodrang yesterday.

An old model landcruiser fell 2,000 metres below the road.  The driver who is a monk at Chitokha Lhakhang is critically injured and has been referred to the referral hospital in Thimphu.

The families of the deceased have been informed about the road fatality, and the police are yet to establish the cause of the fatality.

Meanwhile two men, 19 and 21, died on the way to hospital after they were hit by a falling boulder in Tshiadang village under Nangkhor Gewog, Zhemgang yesterday.

Incident occurred around 12:30 pm while they were drilling rock for the ongoing farm road construction towards Tshiadang at Nyakhar. Both were working as rock drillers for the farm road construction. Both are from Nyakhar village.

Eyewitnesses said they were hit on head and chests.

Meanwhile, on behalf of His Majesty’s Kidu office in Zhemgang semsos were granted to the victims’ families.
