A 36-year-old woman, a shop owner, was detained by police in Bajo, Wangduephodrang on Friday for selling tobacco products. Officials found over 5000 sticks of cigarettes and bidis and over 11,000 grams of chewing tobacco products. The search was conducted after the officials received a complaint. According the Tobacco Control Act of Bhutan 2010 it is a fourth degree felony, which means three years to less than five years imprisonment irrespective of the quantity.
