A Phuentsholing student wins the Golden Youth Award

PM_-Golden-Youth-2013Rigzin Choden, 16, a student of Phuentsholing Middle Secondary School is the winner of the Golden Youth Award this year. After completing her tenth grade she will receive a full scholarship in the United World College.

The prize was awarded by the Prime Minister, Lyonchhoen Tshering Tobgay on Friday. The main objective of the camp was to provide youth with the opportunity to participate in leadership activities.

It also provided the students a platform to exchange ideas and perspectives on issues affecting lives of both rural and urban youth. A total of 80 youth, 40 boys and 40 girls, competed at the camp.
