His Holiness the Je Khenpo today awarded Tashi Khadhar to Lam Phurpa Thinley appointing him as the Lam of Doa-Nga Choling Goenpa. The Goenpa is in Dorjidhen in the Indian State of Bihar.
Lam Phurpa Thinley, 35, is from Wangduephodrang Dzongkhag. At an early age of 2, Lam Phurba Thinley was enrolled with the Pung-Thim Dratshang where he studied under the present Yangbi Lopen of the Central Monastic Body.
At the age of 23 Lam Phurba Thinley joined a Shedra in Mysore, Karnataka, India.
Prior to this present appointment he was assisting the Lam of the Doa-Nga Choling Goenpa.
