Team Pepcity is the winner of this year Open Futsal Tournament, 2013. They defeated team Chang Stallion by three goals to one in the final played at Changlimithang parking area in Thimphu, today.
The winner was awarded a cash prize of Nu.12,000 along with a trophy, the first runners up Nu.8000 and a trophy.
The organizer said the tournament was held to promote youth participation and ensure they stay off illegal substances during the summer break.
A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament. It was organized by Nazhoen Pelri Drop-in center, Youth Development Fund with the theme, ‘Run, Sweat, say No to Drugs’. The tournament began on July 1.
