The laying of the artificial turf at the Changjiji football ground in Thimphu began, yesterday.
An expert from the Netherlands says given the favourable weather, it should take two weeks for works to be completed. The artificial turf is stuck with glue, and therefore needs dry weather for quick progress.
The Bhutan Football Federation’s General Secretary, Ugyen Wangchhuk, in the meantime, says the ground, when complete will be used solely for training purposes.
The cost of the turf was already included in the US$ 900,000 from FIFA which was also used for the Changlimithang artificial turf.
