RigsumGoenpa-TyangtseRigsum Goenpa is one of the oldest and the most sacred monuments in eastern Bhutan. It is located more than four hours walk from Boomdeling in Trashi Yangtse.  It is more than 300 years old. And to this day, the monks in the goenpa have been living without electricity. The monument will be electrified this month.

Rigsum Goenpa was reconstructed at the cost of over Nu 15 Million in 2004. Founded in the 18th century by Lam Tshering Gyamtsho, the Goenpa is the summer residence of the monks of Chorten Kora in Trashi Yangtse.
