The Dzongkhag Dispute Settlement Body’s investigation has revealed that the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa’s (DPT) candidate of Tashichhoeling Demkhong in Samtse and the Chiwog Coordinator did serve lunch and beverages to those who attended their coordination meeting.
The dispute settlement body has warned the candidate and coordinator not to repeat the mistake again and abide by the electoral laws. If similar activities are repeated, the concern person is liable extensive penalties, they were warned.
The candidate and party coordinator have accepted their wrong-doing. They say they respect the decision of the dispute settlement body and will not repeat such offence again.
The warning comes after one of the eligible voters from Tendruk Gewog had complained to the dispute settlement body saying the voters were served lunch and beverages during their coordination meeting held at Kutchin Tar.
As per the report, around 80 people had attended the meeting of which around 35 had lunch and beverages.
