His Majesty meets families affected by flood in Punakha

HM- meets families affected by flood in Punakha.His Majesty the King, accompanied by Her Majesty the Gyeltsuen, visited Punakha, today. Their Majesties met with the families affected by the flash flood earlier this month in Punakha. Their Majesties also visited two schools.

Before meeting with the affected families, His Majesty the King visited the areas which were damaged by the flash flood earlier this month.

After visiting Thudrup Lhakhang in Kabjesa, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen met and interacted with the people have been affected by the flash flood.

His Majesty granted kidu soelra to the families who had gathered there.

The flash floods on June 4 washed away paddy and chilly fields. The flood has also covered the fields with soil, damaging the crops and the irrigation channels. Forty five households in Wokhuna, Betekha and Rangsikha in Kabjesa Gewog were affected.

Later, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen also offered prayers at Thudrup Lhakhang.

His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, also visited Punakha Higher Secondary School and Kabjesa Middle Secondary School, and met with the students and the teachers there.
