Gelephu police have apprehended two boys of Indian nationality in connection with burglaries that took place between May 15to June 6. They were caught while trying to cross the Bhutan gate in a taxi with the stolen items.
Police have recovered the stolen items and have notified the owners. There were six burglary cases this year and they have confessed to four of it. The burglaries were carried out in a broad daylight.
There were no sign of forced entry in the burglary, so have police said it is important for the owners to use interlock, inform neighbours when out of station and be vigilant.
Under the penal code of Bhutan, burglary is a fourth degree felony with a minimum of three and maximum of five years imprisonment.
