A classical Persian Sufi performance called Awakening Love and Compassion through Music was held in Thimphu, today.
Davood Azad Bonaby from Iran, and Ani Choying Dolma from Nepal will be performing at the concert. Davood is an accomplished vocalist, composer and an instrumentalist, who has also been involved in musical collaborations with western as well as eastern musicians.
Ani Choying Dolma is an internationally reputed singer of Buddhist hymns and chants. She is the founder of the Nuns Welfare Foundation of Nepal.
The concert is being staged by the Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre in collaboration with the Global Peace Initiative for Women and the Gross National Happiness Centre.
