BBS's producer wins best documentary award

cOST-OF-cLImate-Change- TShering Penjor“The Cost of Climate Change”, a documentary by Producer Tshering Penjor of BBS 2, has won the award for the best documentary film at the 3rd SAARC film festival.

The festival held in Sri Lanka on 31st May also screened films from Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

 “The Cost of Climate Change” high-lights flooding risksposed by glacial lake outbursts in Bhutan and the Himalayan region.

Producer TsheringPenjorcaptures the journey to Lunana a major source of GLOF, on the Bhutan-China border anddocuments the massive efforts made in Lunana to reduce the level of the Thorthormi Lake.

The same documentary was also awarded the United Nations Correspondents Association Global Prize for Climate Change in 2010.
