ECB--PDP-Candidate-of-Gangzur-Minjey.Druk Phuensum Tshogpa and People’s Democratic Party could look at candidates-designate from Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa and Druk Chirwang Tshogpa under four special circumstances says the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB).

A candidate-designate may be allowed to be substituted by another registered member of a political party if the current candidate-designate has died or is unable to contest due to physical incapacitation. Substitution is also allowed if the candidature is not accepted by Returning Officers or if a candidature is cancelled due to violation of the Laws during the course of election campaigning. If a Party, under Section 209 (c) of the Election Act, decides to register and nominate a candidate from another party that did not make it for the General Election with registration in original Party being forfeited, substitution will be accepted.
