Highest postal ballots go to DPT

postalBallot-DPT HighestDruk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) secured the highest number postal ballots with 42.8 percent in the primary round. People’s Democratic Party (PDP) secured 35.9. Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT) got 18.8 percent. The Party to secure the least votes through postal ballot was Druk Chirwang Tshogpa (DCT) with just 2.3 percent.

Druk Phuensum Tshogpa secured 16,270 from 37,943 postal ballots. The party managed to get the highest number of postal ballots from 10 Dzongkhags, Bumthang, Lhuentse, Monggar, Pema Gatshel, Samdrup Jongkhar, Thimphu, Trashigang, Trashi Yangtse, Trongsa and Zhemgang.

Maximum votes through postal ballots from the ten other dzongkhags went to People’s Democratic Party. In total, PDP secured 13, 629 postal ballots.

Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa secured the second highest postal ballots from Trashigang. The party in total received 7163 ballots.

Druk Chirwang Tshogpa obtained the least ballots with just 881.
