The Assistant State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ambassador Beat Nobs arrived in the country today on a five-day familiarization visit.
The Assistant State Secretary is leading a three-member delegation from the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
Ambassador Beat Nobs called on Foreign Secretary Yeshey Dorji earlier today. He also met with the Secretary of GNH Commission.
While in the country, he will call on the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, Lyonpo Sonam Tobgye, and meet other senior government officials. He will also visit Swiss assisted projects.
Switzerland is one of Bhutan’s oldest development partners. A news release from ministry of foreign affairs says Switzerland has contributed significantly to Bhutan’s socio-economic development.
In the 10th Five Year Plan, Switzerland contributed 26 million Swiss Francs.
