His Majesty re-nominates former five eminent persons

In accordance with Article 11 (1b) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan, His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo re-nominated the former five eminent persons as Members of the National Council. They are Dasho Karma Yezer Raydi, Kuenlay Tshering, Karma Damcho Nidup, Tashi Wangmo and Tashi Wangyal.

Further, in keeping with Article 10 (5) of the Constitution, His Majesty the King also commanded that the First Sitting of the National Council to be held on May 10, 2013.

During the First Sitting on Friday, the election of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson will be held following which the members will be administered Oath or Affirmation of Office.

The Chairperson and the Deputy Chairperson will be administered oath or affirmation of secrecy by the Chief Justice of Bhutan.
