Acres of forest lost to fire

forest-fire-wangdiOver three hundred acres of forest cover was damaged by a fire in Wangdue Phodrang yesterday.

The fire broke out from the forests above the RBA training centre in Tencholing. It is believed to have started around 2:30 pm yesterday.

Forestry officials say the firefighting team managed to contain at around 5:30 pm.

The cause of the fire is not known.
