An educationist secures maximum votes from Trashiyangtse

Tashi-PhuntshoTashi Phuntsho, 40, secured 3,226 votes from Trashiyangtse. He was nominated from Yalang Gewog. Tashi Phuntsho has worked with the Ministry of Education for 16 years as the Education Monitoring Officer, Principal, Vice-Principal and Teacher. He has M.Ed from the Paro College of Education and B.Ed from Samtse College of Education.

He has promised to represent the people of his dzongkhag in achieving the vision of Gross National Happiness by bridging the government and people. He wants to enact laws that are impartial and that protects every Bhutanese citizen. “I will serve to safeguard the interest of the Nation and fulfil the aspiration of the people at all time.”

Tashi Phuntsho also said he will work in tandem with the National Assembly members of his Dzongkhag. He said he will also review the performances of the government as to determine the timely success of the plans and programs at the National, Dzongkhag, Gewog and Chiwog levels.

The other contender, Karma Gyeltshen, secured 2,288 votes.
