His Majesty grants farewell audience to parliamentarians

HM-Parliamentarians-Audience.The Prime Minister, National Assembly Speaker, Cabinet Ministers, Opposition Leader and the Member of the Opposition received a farewell audience with His Majesty the King yesterday.

It was five years ago when the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers as the first democratically elected government began their journey after receiving an audience with His Majesty the King. And yesterday as the National Assembly dissolved, the ministers lead by Prime Minister Jigmi Y. Thinley entered the throne room for a farewell audience from His Majesty the King.

Once in the throne room, His Majesty the King presented Tashi Khadar so as to mark the five year term of the ruling government.

Coinciding with the auspicious day of Zhabdrung Kuchoe, His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister along with Cabinet Ministers offered prayers and butter lamps at the Kuenrey of Tashichhodzong.

Later that morning, the Opposition Leader Tshering Tobgay and member of the Opposition Damcho Dorji also received an audience with His Majesty the King. They also received Tashi Khadar.

His Majesty the King also joined them in offering prayers and butter lamps at the Kuenrey.
