HC-NidupDoji-Little-ChampThe High Court upholds the judgment passed by the Thimphu district court against Nidup Dorji, the organiser of the reality show, Little Champs.

The High Court sentenced Nidup Dorji to six months in prison for deceptive practice on April 8.  However, he can pay Thrimthue of Nu.18,000  in lieu of the prison term.

As per the court order, Nidup Dorji will have to pay the prizes as announced and promised to the nine winners of the show. The prices amount to a total of Nu.6,24,000.

He is also asked to pay Nu.10,000 each to the parents of the nine children as a compensation for their time consumed during the case.

If not satisfied with the judgment, Nidup Dorji can appeal within 10 days. BBS tried but couldn’t get in touch with him.
