Four arrested for illegal transaction of drugs

IllegalSmuggling-DrugsThe Changjiji Community Police in Thimphu have arrested four men for the illegal transaction of drugs. The arrest was made on Sunday following a tip-off.

A kilogram of dried hashish and over 80 files of contraband substances were seized from a restaurant. All four suspects also tested positive for drugs.

Also on Sunday, the Changjiji Community Police arrested two other men for illegal possession of contraband substances. The third accomplice is on the run. Marijuana and empty tablet strips were recovered from the house of one of the suspects.

The police have also seized a suitcase of drugs belonging to the two from a restaurant in Olakha. The drugs included 490 files of spasmo-proxyvon and chewing tobacco.

Police said the drugs seized are worth over Nu. 2,70,000.
