Paro FC Women and RTC Women’s FC remain level on points at the top of the Bhutan National Women’s Football League after playing out a goalless draw yesterday. The result keeps the title race tight as the league reaches the middle of the season.
Paro FC Women and RTC Women’s FC shared the points after neither side could find the back of the net in yesterday’s top-of-the-table clash.
Both teams have now played five matches, with four wins and one draw each, taking their tally to 13 points.
Paro remain at the top on goal difference, having scored 23 goals and conceded just three. RTC are second with 17 goals scored and two conceded.
The result leaves little separating the two sides as the competition moves into the second half of the season. Meanwhile, Transport United Ladies are third with six points from five matches, while Thimphu City Women’s FC are fourth with six points from four games.
Under-20 Gelephu Academy Girls and Ugyen Academy Women’s FC occupy fifth and sixth places respectively, with one point each.
In the Women’s Championship, the second tier, Tsirang Women’s FC continue to lead the table with 12 points from five matches. Gelephu City Women’s FC and Under-17 Gelephu Academy Girls follow on nine points each, while Phuentsholing Women’s FC are yet to register a point.
With plenty of matches still to come, both competitions remain open, with teams battling for the top spots and a strong finish to the season.
