Paro FC Women are making a strong start in the BOB Bhutan Women’s National League. They have won all three of their matches and sit at the top of the table with nine points. Their latest win came against Ugyen Academy FC, whom they defeated 9-0.
For Paro FC Women, the start to the Women’s National League has been almost perfect. Three matches, three wins and 21 goals scored.
They sit comfortably at the top of the table with nine points, having conceded just twice.
RTC Women’s FC are second with six points from two matches, while Transport United Ladies also have six points from four games.
Thimphu City Women’s FC are fourth with three points from two matches.
They are followed by Under-20 Gelephu Academy Girls and Ugyen Academy, both on one point, although U20 Gelephu Academy Girls have played three matches while Ugyen Academy have played four.
As more matches are played, the teams at the top will face tougher challenges, and every point could become important in the race for the title.
Meanwhile in the National Championship, Tsirang Women FC are enjoying an equally impressive start. It is another league with four teams.
They have won all four of their matches and lead the table with a perfect 12 points. Tsirang have scored 15 goals and conceded just one.
Under-17 Gelephu Academy Girls and Gelephu City Women FC are currently level on six points, while Phuentsholing Women FC are still searching for their first point.
With the two competitions providing opportunities for both established and emerging teams, the battle at both levels is beginning to take shape.
