Fewer graduates will sit for the Main Examination of the Bhutan Civil Service Examination this year compared to the previous year. The Royal Civil Service Commission says around 1,300 candidates cleared the Preliminary Examination this year, which is a decrease of around 340 from last year. The number of graduates sitting for the Preliminary Examination also dropped by more than one thousand this time. The RCSC declared the PE results today.
For close to 1400 graduates, the journey towards joining the civil service has moved one step closer.
They have scored 55 per cent and above to qualify for the Main Examination.
Over 2,100 sat for the examination, down from 3520 last year.
Of nearly 3,500 graduates who registered for the PE this year, more than 1,000 did not turn up for the exam.
Meanwhile, 809 graduates have been exempted from PE this year, compared with 698 last year.
Together, close to 2,200 candidates will now proceed to the Main Examination.
Following document verification of the candidates who qualified, the main exam will be conducted from 1st to 3rd October.
They will compete for over 700 job vacancies in the civil service.
Technical services account for the largest share with 406 positions, followed by 150 B.Ed. positions and 60 PGDE positions in the education sector.
Administration Service has 60 vacancies, while Finance Service has 35.
